Feb.2 - The Day i thought I died & went to Heaven

Story = Becca posted her whole wheat recipe on her blog . so we decided we would try it . now we did not have a Kitchen Aid Mixer . So we did not want to reduce the recipe so we went and got us a new Kitchen Aid . Which is something that both of us have wanted for a life time . The Picture only showed 6 Loafes But there was 7 before i Gobbled One up . When we went to Big John's in Pocatello to get the Gluton , The Owners wife said she uses 2 Cans of Glutin , One a Wheat Blutin and the other Grandma's Glutin , 2 Heaping teaspoons of Each, although the 7 loafes figured to cost $ 57.00 A Piece . and then we made Becca's Chicken soupe . I ate 3 Big bowls of Soupe and a Loaf of Bread , That Bread was out of this world , I had a ball making the bread , i never had used a wheat grinder , and you did not have to kneed the Bread , The Kitchen aid did all the Work , We love to Kitchen aid so much , it just might become my sleeping Pardner. you Grandkids needs to tell up old people about these new things , after you spend a life time making bread over a camp fire we need to know about the Progress of the World. All i can say Mover over Rachael Ray and Bobby Flay , Cause there is a mean lean new cook in town . and by the way becca ,, keep those Recipes coming , Both of these were Out of this World

This Picture Is Mom & Dad on their 50 th Wedding . You Grandkids were a little to young to know them very well , So am going to tell you a story so you can know them Better . My dad and me had a very special relationship , we was not father and son , we were Buddies ,on our hunting trips , One time i recalled we was hunting on House Mt. which is just above Pine,Idaho when we got lost . Now dad could out walk a horse and he had amazing strength for walking ,this was when i was about 17 years old , But he had reached the stage when he said ,i have had it ,lets just shot a squirel and spend the night . well that scared me so bad , i took off walking taking 2 strides
for every step that he was taken . we must have walked 6 hrs at almost a run , we finally came to a road which a sign said house mt. 13 miles, he gave out and so i walkedthe 13 miles to get our car .
another time we was hunting on bennett Mt. just north of Hammett and a big band of deer ran across the road , i opened up and downed 7 deer before you could say " Jack Rabbit " , i turned to dad and said you want me to shot you one. He in turn said you killed enough deer to feed the whole town of hammet . on weekend we had an old row boat that we used to take into glenns ferry and then go down the snake river fishing for trout and sturgeons ,we always caught a lot of fish. we realy developed a close relation ship that most sons and fathers never have . we did all our hunting togather , Another time we was going elk hunting in to the Primitive area and we was going down a road and then i got an idea to play like the brakes went out of the truck with our 6 horses in it . dad almost jumped out of the truck .

my mom was a gentle woman , i guess i was her favorite , i never did get a spanking ( not that i didnt deserve a few , she told a story that me and shirley made a pretty Potatoe salad to suprise
our folks, after they ate with out showing no remorse , they said next time to cook the potatoes
i guess i could go on all day , we had a lot of love in our house , I always regretted that i did not
have to time to develope the Relationship that i had with my father as with my sons because
of my career on the Railroad . Mom had been in the Boise Hospital because of a heart attack
on the Day that we was supposed to go get her and bring her home , we got a phone call from the hospital saying that she had just died , I still miss my parents , But we did the temple and the feeling was very strong ,i know that both of them accepted the temple work , and i know with out a doubt that we will all be togather in the here - after

One Of My Favorites Of Becca
